Capture your own content idea

Save a content idea to your library, from a feed question, a trending article, or your own words, so it waits until you're ready to record.

Save a question from the feed, bookmark a trending article, or type a rough thought in your own words, so it waits in your library until you're ready to record.

Before you start

  • You need a Tention account with onboarding complete.
  • Capturing ideas is a creator action. Use the mobile app or tention.app. Both work for saving feed ideas.
  • To capture a free-text idea in your own words, use the mobile app (no web surface yet).

To save a feed idea (mobile)

  1. Open the app. The home screen shows your Ideas feed.
  2. Scroll the Trending row (horizontal cards) to find a topic that fits you. Tap the bookmark icon on the card to save it.

  3. Scroll down to "Go-to topics" for evergreen questions. Tap the bookmark icon on any row to save it.
  4. Optional: tap the card first to read the full article and see your question. Then tap the bookmark in the top corner.
  5. A toast says "Saved to Library." The idea now lives under Library > Hot Takes or Slow Burns.

To save a feed idea (web, Hot Takes only)

  1. Go to tention.app and click Ideas in the nav.
  2. Find a Hot Take card in the top row. Click the bookmark icon on the card.
  3. Or click the card to open it in the side drawer, then click the bookmark button inside.
  4. A toast confirms the save. The card leaves the feed and lands in Library > Saved > Hot takes.

To capture your own idea (mobile)

  1. Go to the Library tab and find the "Your Ideas" shelf.
  2. Tap the Capture tile. It's the first card in the row.
  3. A bottom sheet opens. Type your rough thought. Or tap the mic on your keyboard to dictate.
  4. Tap "Capture." The sheet closes and you land on the idea card.
  5. From there you can refine the question with Tention's AI, edit it yourself, or go straight to record.

To add a topic for more tailored questions

  1. On mobile: scroll to the bottom of the Ideas feed, tap "MORE ON YOUR MIND?" and type the topic. Tap Save. New questions appear in your feed within about 30 seconds.

  2. On web: scroll to the "More on your mind?" box at the bottom of the Ideas page. Type the topic and click "Shape it" (or press Cmd+Enter on a Mac). A new Slow Burn card appears in Go-to topics within about 30 seconds.

You'll know it worked when

  • Mobile: a toast says "Saved to Library" and the bookmark icon stays filled.
  • Web Hot Take: the card leaves the Ideas feed and a toast appears.
  • Self-capture: the capture sheet closes and you land on your new idea card.
  • Topic submission: new cards appear in Go-to topics within about 30 seconds.

The thinking's done. Your turn to talk.

One question a day. Filmed with you, checked against your guidelines, posted everywhere.
