Link the accounts where Tention will publish your takes. Channels can be personal (yours alone) or organisation-owned (shared across a Business account). This guide covers both.
Before you start
- You have a Tention account and have finished onboarding.
- Use the web app at tention.app. Channel management lives here, not in the mobile app.
- Have the social account you want to connect open in the same browser, or be ready to sign in.
Connect a personal channel (Solo or Pro creators)
- Go to tention.app and sign in.
- Click Settings in the left nav.
- Click Channels in the settings sidebar.
- Under Recommended, find the platform you want: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, LinkedIn, X, or Google Business.
- Click Connect. A new browser tab opens with that platform's sign-in screen.
- Sign in and tap Allow (or Grant access) when prompted.
- The tab closes and you return to Tention. A confirmation toast appears.
- The platform now shows in the Connected list with your account handle.
- Repeat for any other platforms you want.
Connect an organisation channel (Business admins)
- Go to tention.app and sign in as the admin of your Business account.
- Click Settings in the left nav.
- Click Organisation > Channels in the settings sidebar.
- Under Recommended, find the platform you want to add for the organisation.
- Click Connect. A new tab opens. Sign in to the business or brand account for that platform, not your personal account.
- Tap Allow when prompted.
- The tab closes. The platform appears in the organisation's Connected list.
- Repeat for each platform the organisation publishes to.
Reconnect or disconnect a channel
- Go to Settings > Channels (personal) or Settings > Organisation > Channels (admin).
- Find the channel row and click Manage.
- Choose Reconnect and follow the sign-in steps again, or choose Disconnect to remove it.
You'll know it worked when
Personal channel: the platform row appears in the Connected list with your handle, and it shows up as an option when you schedule a take.
Organisation channel: the channel appears in the organisation Connected list. When creators submit takes for approval, the admin can route approved takes to these channels.
