Schedule and publish across channels

Queue a filmed take to your channels from the web calendar or straight from your phone. Schedule it manually, let Tention auto-schedule, or post in 5 minutes.

Schedule and publish across channels. Queue filmed takes to one or more social platforms, set times manually or let the engine suggest them, and manage your whole posting runway from a calendar.

Before you start

  • You need a Tention account with at least one filmed take in your Library.
  • You can schedule on the desktop web app (tention.app) or right from the mobile app. The web app has the full calendar and runway tools. Mobile keeps it quick, so you can line up a take the moment you finish filming. See On mobile below.
  • You need at least one social channel connected in Settings before you can schedule anything.
  • If you are a creator on a Business account: your takes go through an admin approval step after you schedule them.

Step 1. Connect a channel (first time only)

  1. Go to Settings in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Channels tab.
  3. Find a platform in the Recommended list and click Connect · 2 min.

  4. A new tab opens with the platform's sign-in page. Complete the steps there.
  5. Come back to the Settings tab. Your channel appears in the Connected list right away.

Step 2. Set up mirror routing (optional but recommended)

  1. In Settings, click the Cadence tab.
  2. Scroll to Mirror routing.

  3. Pick your primary channel (where the video posts first).
  4. Set a delay for each other channel. For example, Instagram first, then TikTok 2 hours later.
  5. Toggle Default on if you want mirrors checked by default every time you schedule.

  6. Save.

Step 3. Schedule a single take

  1. Go to Library in the left sidebar.

  2. Click the Filmed shelf and open a take.

  3. In the detail drawer, click the Schedule button.

  4. The schedule modal opens. Pick your primary channel from the pills at the top.

  5. If you have mirror channels set up, they appear below. Toggle any you want to include.
  6. Set the date and time in the When field. Or click Intelligent to have the engine suggest the next open slot that fits your cadence and active hours. Or click In 5 minutes for a quick test post.

  7. Add a caption if you want one. It goes to every channel you selected.
  8. Click Schedule.

If you are a creator on a Business account: after you click Schedule, the take moves to a Pending approval state. Your business admin sees it in their approval queue. Once they approve it, it moves to Scheduled and posts at the time you set.

Step 4. View your schedule

  1. Click Schedule in the left sidebar.

  2. The top of the page shows your runway and your current posting frequency.
  3. The calendar defaults to Week view (Monday to Sunday). Use the arrows to move forward or back. Click Month to see the full month at a glance.

  4. If you have more than one channel connected, click a channel chip at the top to filter the view to that platform only.

Step 5. Move, edit, or cancel a slot

  1. Drag any slot card to a different day to reschedule it. The time stays the same. Only the date changes.

  2. Click a slot card to open it. You can change the time, edit the caption, or cancel the post.

  3. Posts that are already sending or published cannot be moved.

Step 6. Auto-fill your runway

  1. Go to Schedule.

  2. Click Auto-fill in the top-right of the week grid.

  3. The engine places takes across the visible week at times within your active hours.

Step 7. Adjust your posting frequency

  1. Go to Schedule.

  2. Click - or + next to the posts-per-week number, or type a number directly.

  3. Click Re-flow to N/week. The engine re-lays your entire forward schedule to match the new frequency.

On mobile - Open the scheduler

  1. Open the Library and go to the Filmed tab.

  2. Tap the take you want to post. An action sheet slides up.
  3. Tap Schedule.

On mobile - Then pick how it posts

  1. Manual schedule. Choose your platforms (every connected account is pre-selected, so one tap posts everywhere), pick a time from the quick time chips like Tomorrow, 9am, add a caption if you want, and tap Schedule.

  2. Auto schedule. Let Tention place the take for you. It spreads your posts across your active hours and follows your cadence, so you do not pick the time yourself.

  3. Post in 5 minutes. In a hurry? Send the take out shortly, without setting a date. Good for a timely take you want live almost straight away.

You'll know it worked when

  • Solo / Pro: the take appears in the Scheduled shelf in your Library.
  • Business creator: the take appears as Pending approval until your admin approves it, then moves to Scheduled.
  • Your slot shows up on the Schedule calendar on the right day and time.
  • After publishing time, the slot disappears from the calendar and the take moves to Published in your Library.

The thinking's done. Your turn to talk.

One question a day. Filmed with you, checked against your guidelines, posted everywhere.
