How-to

Set your posting cadence

Control how many times per week Tention publishes for you, which hours it stays silent, and how each connected platform is paced.

Set your posting cadence. Tell Tention how often to post and when to stay quiet.

If you are on a Business plan, your cadence settings apply to your own posts. Your admin manages scheduling on org-owned channels separately. Those do not appear in your personal Cadence tab.

Before you start

  • You need a connected social channel (Settings → Channels).
  • Cadence is set on the desktop web app only. Your phone inherits whatever you set here.

Set your weekly posting frequency

  1. Go to tention.app and sign in.
  2. Click Schedule in the left nav.
  3. Look at the Posting frequency stepper near the top. It shows your current posts-per-week.
  4. Click + or - to change the number. Or click the number and type a new one. (Range: 1 to 210.)

  5. The coach line updates to show what you are about to do. For example, "Set to 5 a week. Click re-flow and I'll space everything to match."

  6. Click Re-flow schedule. The button pulses when a change is pending. Tention saves your new frequency, then re-spaces all your planned posts. You will see a line like "Re-flowed 12 posts to 5/week" with an Undo link if you change your mind.

Set your quiet hours

  1. Click Settings in the left nav.
  2. Click the Cadence tab on the left rail.
  3. Scroll to Quiet hours.
  4. Set the From and To dropdowns to the window you want silent. For example, 22:00 to 07:00.
  5. Click Save. The change takes effect immediately.

Adjust per-platform posting frequency

  1. On the Cadence tab, scroll to Per-platform cadence and find the platform you want to change.
  2. Find the platform you want to change. If it shows a number field, type your new weekly count and click Save. Platforms marked "Posts every day" or "Mirrors your primary" do not have an editable count.

You'll know it worked when

  • Schedule frequency: the coach line reads "Right on your rhythm. Holding a steady N a week." and the runway meter dot sits near the target tick.
  • Quiet hours: the dropdowns reset to your saved values after saving.
  • Per-platform: the number field shows your new count and the Save button disappears.

The thinking's done. Your turn to talk.

One question a day. Filmed with you, checked against your guidelines, posted everywhere.
